Q: Hi. I love the mattress at my parents house -- A Simmons Beautyrest Clementine. I am shopping at Sleep Train in San Mateo, CA, and can't seem to find it. Can you tell me what the equivalent mattress is called at Sleep Train?
- Jesse Beebe

A:

Hi Jesse,

Thanks for your question.  I have a record of a Clementine from our 2006 line up as a Classic Beautyrest.  Depending if your mom's mattress is 10", 12", 15" and we can match up a model on our website and in Sleep Train's showroom to try.  Unless the Clementine has any visual label for being World Class or Exceptionale, it will be a Classic Beautyrest similar to our Harley model from our 2010 Beautyrest Catalog.  Let us know if you can figure out the mattress's thickness and if any labels mention a comfort level of Plush, Plush Firm, Eurotop, or Pillow Top.

Q: Recently slept on a Beautyrest World Class, Bouvet Island Super pillow top plush mattress for a week. Loved it! We would like to purchase a new mattress set and was wondering if this one is available for retail and if not what would be your recommendation? We would like to purchase and the closest towns would Redding, CA or Medford, OR.
- Georgia Hansen

A:

Hi Georgie,

Thanks for your submission.  The Simmons Beautyrest World Class Bouvet Island Plush Super Pillow Top mattress is actually from Canada but we have one here exactly like it.  It\'s a World Class Simmons Beautyrest with a layer of Next Generation(NxG) Visco Memory Foam.  On our website, the exact same Beautyrest is called the World Class Edgertown Plush Super Pillow Top at http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=1135.  This particular model is showcased at most showrooms around the country.  When shopping, you want to to ask for a World Class Pillow Top with Visco Foam.  That Verbage will speak clearly to any salesperson that has Simmons on their floor.  Our price for the Egdertown Plush Super Pillow Top is $1,399 queen set and $1,699 King set, price includes mattress, foundation(s), shipping in 2-3 weeks, white glove delivery and installation, and no sales tax(except in NC and CA).  We\'ll send you some options for shopping in your e-mail.  Thanks again for your question!  Call us anytime at 866-799-0048.

Q: What kind of warranty comes with a Mount Whitney Plush mattress? Which company makes the mattress?
- Michael Hutcherson

A:

Hi Michael,

We have a Mount Whitney mattress in our website database but  it is a 2006 Simmons DeepSleep model that is no longer in production.  There is an equivalent model in the current 2010 line up from Simmons  called the BeautySleep Eminence Plush set on ohttp://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=868. The Eminence Plush has a 5 year full warranty with a 5 year pro-rated warranty.  The pricing on our website includes delivery and installation and there is no sales tax unless you live in NC or CA.

If you saw the Mount Whitney Plush locally, find out more about the coil count or if it has any details on the price card and we can help you match it up to an equivalent Beautyrest in our line up.  You can call us anytime at 866-799-0048 with any questions.

Q: Hi there. We're both side sleepers who purchased an NXG 100F mattress. We really wanted something firm and flat but found ourselves waking up with pain in our hips. We could move up to the 250F but are a bit concern (we're afraid of soft mattresses that start to sag quickly and give back pain). Should we go for the 250 or pick a World Class mattress instead? We'd like it to last at least 5 years and weigh 250 and 235. Thanks.
- Joann Crockett

A: Hi Joann, For side sleeping, extremely firm mattresses are not comfortable and do not allow the body to sleep in a natural, supportive posture. It's akin to sleeping on the ground when camping, usually not very comfy. The NxG 250F would be a little less firm but if you both predominantly side sleep, we recommend the NxG 250 Plush instead so there is more relief under the hips and shoulders. Even the 250 Plush model has an emphasis on the firmer side because there are a lot of coils wound tightly into the individual pockets. We high recommend trying the two if possible before deciding. The World Class models and NxG Beautyrests feature the exact same coil system. So switching to a World Class model isn't going to increase comfort in the Plush Firm comfort level. The closest model to the NxG 250F in the World Class line is a Beautyrest World Class Plush Firm. Same thickness only just a layer of NxG foam compared the the complete upholstery being NxG in the Specialty bed. Definitely consider the 250 Plush if you both side sleep for the majority of your rest. Thanks again for your question!

Q: Hi We live in NY and want to know what kind of trucks you have deliver mattresses and if any are guaranteed bed bug free?? It's a really big problem here and we don't want to bring bedbugs into our home. We like your pricing
- Worried About Bedbugs

A: Hello, Thanks for your question. We have received many inquiries lately about this issue as it has popped up online quite a bit over the last few months. We ship with several different companies that offer a variety of services. For the advertised price online, you can get curbside delivery within about 10 business days or less by a truck that only does drop offs and does not remove any old bedding. For an additional $100 we can have a white glove company that does not do old bedding removal come deliver and install the mattress. All our mattress sets are shipped in a sealed manufacturer's bag so before bringing it in, you can inspect the plastic and the mattress and clean it off to be extra sure. Our regular delivery agents are bed bug free and when they remove old bedding, it is dropped off for disposal quickly. Removed mattresses do not get stacked with new mattresses either. Please contact us by phone at 866-799-0048 if you have any more quesetions.

Q: I'm looking at buying Alisanne Simmons Beautyrest Black. I'm a flipper but mostly sleep on my back and side. My wife is more of a side sleeper. What is your opinion about this bed fitting our sleep type? Is there another Simmons model we should consider? Thank you
- Anonymous Poster

A: Hello, Thanks for posting your question. Flippers generally tend to be side sleepers that can't stay comfortable on one side for very long. The Beautyrest Black Alisanne model, http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=846, has thick layers of Latex and NxG Visco Memory foam in the upholstery to provide lots of pressure relief so you can sleep comfortably on your side for long periods of time. This is a very good model if you want to reduce the amount of tossing and turning you do at night and at the same time not disturb your sleep partner. This is a top model from Simmons. I have one recommendation that is a great compliment to the Beautyrest Black Alisanne model. It's the Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme mattress, http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=1230. The Tempur-Pedic Cloud Supreme is a foam mattress that achieves the same amount of comfort as the Alisanne and is half as thick. You can also use adjustable Ergo foundations underneath it to improve your support and blood circulation while back and side sleeping. If you haven't tried this mattress, we highly recommend giving it a shot. Let us know your zip code and we can point you to the nearest Tempur-Pedic Dealer.

Q: About two years ago, we purchased a Jameson foam bed from Marriott. At first, it was OK. Now my back hurts every morning. And I noticed my back doesn't hurt when sleeping at a hotel. So I think we need a new bed. Any suggestions? Should we stay away from foam? We spent a lot of money on this bed...really too bad. Do you offer a trial period on your products?
- Christine Stanton

A: Hi Christine, Thanks for participating on our column. We do offer a trail period on any mattress we sell. We honor a 60 day comfort exchange period for all Simmons products and Tempur-Pedic as well. Tempur-Pedic also offers a 90 day risk free trial which allows you to return the mattress if you are not satisfied with the quality of your sleep within the first 90 days(less the cost of shipping). If you liked the Jamison foam bed until it began to wear, we still suggest a foam mattress from either Comfor-Pedic or Tempur-Pedic. These brands have beds that last the test of time and do not sag. Foam mattresses relieve pressure the best and Tempur-Pedic beds will reduce the motion caused by a sleep partner moving to absolutely nothing. Here are links to our most popular Tempur-Pedic mattresses: The Cloud Bed by Tempur-Pedic - http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=1229 The Cloud Supreme by Tempur-Pedic - http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=1230 The Rhapsody Bed by Tempur-Pedic - http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=711 See a full list of the available Tempur-Pedics on our website at http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?catid=51. We recommend the set as your beset option but if you have a box spring/foundation that is only 2 years old, be sure to check it to see if it is a flat, firm, non-yielding platform. If so, you could just get the mattress only and save on the foundation. Let us know if you have tried any of these or would like a quote for any mattress. We can save you on sales tax and delivery fees for your Tempur-Pedic mattress. Call us toll free at 866-799-0048.

Q: We're looking for a beautyrest world class plush/cushion firm mattress. The prices for the three that you carry all look good but we'd like to try them out before purchasing anything. Do you know where we can try out the equivalent mattresses of the Edgertown Plush Firm, the Chula Grove Plush Firm, and the Beliveau Plush Firm? Thanks
- Mike W.

A: Hi Mike, Thanks for your question. The Edgertown Plush Firm Beautyrest will be the easiest to find of the three. You can find it at your closest Macy's at 2 Smith Haven Mall, Lake Grove, NY 11755. The same mattress is called the World Class Beautyrest Elderberry Plush Firm at Macy's. You can also head to your local Sleepy's dealer at 1959 Middle Country Rd, Centereach, NY 11720. Sleepy's showcases the Edgertown Plush as the Beautyrest World Class Glynn Plush Firm. Select Sleepy's carry the Beautyrest Chula Grove Plush Firm model under the name Beautyrest World Class Astley Plush Firm. I have not seen or heard of any customers able to find the Beliveau in your area but keep a look out for it as you shop. The Edgertown features a layer of NxG Visco memory foam while the Chula Grove has a specialty layer of Latex foam in the upholstery instead. The Chula Grove is the firmest between the two. In the Beliveau, Simmons combines the layer of Latex with a layer of the NxG Visco memory foam for a comfortable, conforming feel making the Beliveau the softest of the three. While you shop, be sure to write down any details you can about the mattresses you like most and we can help you compare.

Q: Hello, I am looking for a new queen sized mattress and would like some suggestions. I have tried both the Roseworth plush and Parksdale pillow top. Would the pillow top be a better choice for more comfort since the Roseworth may offer too much support and therefore be too firm? Thank you.
- Gail K

A: Hi Gail, Thanks for your question! In order to make an accurate recommendation to which is mattress, we need a little more information about how you sleep. There are a lot of different factors that may sway us to recommend firmer or softer. Factors like how often you sleep on your side instead of your back or stomach. Also, what is your reason for getting a new bed? Do you have one that is worn out or just uncomfortable? And if applicable, where do you currently experience the most discomfort on your current mattress? Let us know and we'll make a recommendation right away. To help you price compare, here are equivalent mattresses to the two you listed: Beautyrest World Class Roseworth Plush - Beautyrest World Class Chula Grove Plush http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=1139 Queen Set $1,399 King Set $1,699 Beautyrest World Class Parksdale Pillow Top - Beautyrest World Class Edgertown Plush Super Pillow Top http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=1135 Queen Set $1,399 King Set $1,699 Prices include mattress, foundation, shipping in 2-3 weeks, white glove delivery and installation, and no sales tax(except in NC and CA).

Q: Hello, I was trying compare the Simmons Hollins Pillow Top and the Simmons World Class Neema Super Pillow Top. Do you have these?? How long does it take to ship to Minnesota? Thanks -Christy
- Christy P.

A: Hi Christy, Thanks for your e-mail. We are familiar with the Hollins and Neema Beautyrests. The Classic Hollins Pillow Top Beautyrest with a small pillow top. We have the exact same mattress on our website called the Classic Kendall Pillow Top at http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=1112. This is the same as the famed model called the Westin Heavenly Bed. Very popular for sleepers who flop quite a bit. It dampens motion since the coils are individually pocketed so the person next to you doesn't disturb you when they get in and out of bed or move around. The Beautyrest World Class Neema Super Pillow Top is exactly the same as our World Class Edgertown Plush Super Pillow Top on our website at http://sdmattress.com/store/index.php?prodid=1135. The World Class models feature thicker pillow tops and more coils for firmer support under the foam layers. The Edgertown and Neema also have the same layer of NxG Visco memory foam in the upholstery which gives great pressure relief and contouring support. Did you like one more than the other? Tell us a little about how you sleep, what you currently sleep on, and why you are replacing your mattress and we'll help you decide which is the better bed for your needs and make other recommendations if any fit your criteria. Thanks for your question!
